Our Nursing Team is made up of nurses with different skills and expertise. To help you understand what they all do we have
listed their areas of expertise below:

Practice Nurse / Minor Illness work

If you need an appointment for any of the following conditions then please ask to see one of the Practice Nurses.

  • Asthma Review / problems
  • Coughs
  • COPD
  • Diabetes Review / problems
  • Dressings
  • Eye Soreness
  • Earache
  • Emergency Contraception
  • Family Planning
  • Minor Lacerations/Burns
  • Pill Check
  • Rash
  • Skin infection (eczema, etc)
  • Sore Throats
  • Urine Infections
  • Vaginal Discharge

Some of these appointments have to be prebooked in advance (Asthma and Diabetes Review for example).

Treatment Room Nurse

If you need to be seen for any of the following reasons, then please ask for an appointment to see the Treatment Room Nurse.

  • Cervical Smears
  • Cholesterol Monitoring
  • Dressings
  • Ear Syringing
  • Family Planning
  • Heart Disease Monitoring
  • Hearing Tests
  • Holiday Vaccinations

  • Removal of Sutures

Health Care Assistant

If you need an appointment for any of the following reasons then please make it with our Health Care Assistant.

  • Blood Pressure Check
  • Blood Tests
  • Diet Advice
  • ECG Recording
  • Hearing Tests
  • New Patient Health Check
  • Smoking Cessation Advice

It is important that you book your appointment with the correct nurse. If you are in any doubt please ask a receptionist who will be happy to help you.

Midwife

Our Midwife, Sophie Cooper holds clinics on Friday afternoons. The  booking in clinic is alternate Thursday lunch times.

If you wish to leave Sophie a message any time then please ring (01733) 874585.

Health Visitors

Our Health Visitors Marion Grantham and Nikke Clake offer the following services:

  • Health of the under 5's and their familes
  • Advice on general health and welfare matters

Please call in, or telephone on (01733) 568010. Health Visitors are  usually in the surgery between 9.00am - 10.00am and 4.00pm - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
